The purpose of Honor Flight Northwest Georgia is to fly our local Bartow County veterans to Washington, DC, to visit those memorials that have been dedicated to honor their sacrifices.  Top priority is given to America’s most senior veterans – Survivors of WWII.

On 29 May 2004, President Bush dedicated the World War II Memorial to honor “The Greatest Generation.”  Regrettably today, very few of these elderly veterans have the funds or strength to complete a conventional trip to Washington DC.

It is our intention to honor as many of these selfless “ordinary people who saved the world” as we can by providing them a trip, at no cost to them, to visit their memorial.  Our program operates on donations from local organizations and individuals.  Our volunteer guardians pay their own way and personally escort the veterans on the aircraft, accompany them to the memorials throughout the day, and then escort them back during the return flight.

Medical attendants are not provided on this tour.

Applications for attendees are reviewed on a first come first served basis.
